I had a nice weekend :) It was quite uneventful, but I think that is what made it so pleasant. Brett & I had fun just spending time with each other, hanging out. As you can see above, I am doing  a thumbs-up at being fully dressed, with make-up on, out running errands at 9:00 on a Saturday morning. Lisa, how far you have come ;) (Unfortunately I ended up sleeping in until 10 on Sunday, but still made church on time, so no problem).

Brett worked on his beloved Jeep for a chunk of Saturday, so I watched 2 hours of Design on a Dime. The only problem in doing so is that I can't just watch design shows... I find myself looking around the room I am in and trying to "design" myself. I just get pumped up when I see someone making a room like-new in under $34.50, or whatever...:) So by the time Brett came inside I had found, put away & organized all his movies, electrical books, shoes, coats & toys , dusted, vacuumed, and cleaned the living room, dining room & kitchen. ...Mom, I know what you are thinking and I don't know what came over me either :)

On Saturday night, Brett took me to Seattle to eat at The Met :) It was a fun date and yummy steak! Brett was quite proud of the part when he maneuvered out of the tight spot we had parallel parked in. It was quite amazing, I'll agree.

The yummy breakfast that was waiting for me when I got to Bretts house on Sunday morning before church:) After church we went to Bretts parents house, as we do every Sunday for dinner & FHE. I always enjoy going, and I even taught the lesson. (Well, ok, I just rambled on for 10 minutes ;)
This is my attempt at picture-taking with my iPhone. I can take a picture of other things...But for some reason, I have the hardest time holding my hand steady and taking the picture when I am not looking at the screen. Oh well...At least you can't see the big zit on my forehead with this fuzzy shot ;) Perhaps I did it on purpose...   (And Brett wasn't in the mood for picture-taking, can you tell?)

Anyway... It was a nice, relaxing weekend. I love my life, a little more each day :)

My entire life I have felt I was disorganized, unsystematic in tasks & priorities, and a HUGE procrastinator... all of which I desperately want to change. I don't know why it is that I wait until the last minute to take care of something, make a jumbled mess of my surroundings, or misplace everything I own... I just do! But I am here to say that I am progressing! Slowly but surely I am changing the things about myself that caused me to feel so scatterbrained all the time.

Over the past year, since my divorce & since making the decision to move away from home, I have made a commitment to myself to really think about what I want to change, not just spiritually, but in all aspects. I see negative habits dimming as I take the time to stop and think before I act. The things that I am consistently working on are seemingly small, but when ignored, cause the biggest stress in my day-to-day life--Like putting my keys in the same place every time I put them away, or taking a minute to finish a task completely before jumping to another. It is a slow process, but I feel so much more "with it" lately. And it puts me so much more at ease.

I have gotten way organized at work: typing up and color coding our processes for orders, expense reports, travel, etc. And have made labeled binders for each category, so as to not get everything so mixed up! Plus scheduling e-mail marketing dates and shipments. Even organized my shipping cabinet as you can see below!

I got my iCal set up separating personal/work and synced it all with my iPhone so I have all my info when I need it! (For those 2am frantic calls from consultants! :)

Most importantly, I (finally) worked out my budget and figured exactly how and when each debt will be paid off (I'm almost out!) And how much I need to be saving (ugh.)

I also am trying desperately to simplify. That is difficult for a pack rat :). I think this is the hardest part of my "transformation". I am so sentimental. But, I have begun to thin out my clothes, books, movies, & junk, junk, junk. (including the most recent...giving away my old wedding dress) I used to watch Clean Sweep on TLC and always felt like the hosts were so harsh, not letting Susie-Q keep her 30-50 ratty stuffed animals from childhood... But as I go through this same process, It does feel quite good to say goodbye to the "once loved, now stored" clutter :)

Deep breath :) ...Ahhhh.

So... For about 5 years I have been drinking Diet Coke like a crazy woman---3-8 cans a day. :/ But I will say that my intake is not quite as bad as it appears, in that I never actually finish my soda. I am particular about it...I like it really cold, in a can---So I really only drink the first half of the can, while it's still super cold.

I think Brett has caught on to my wasteful ways-- yesterday, he & Will came back from the grocery store with a 12 pack of mini 8oz Diet Cokes :) And, sure enough... It was the perfect amount of Diet Coke for me, none went to waste. Now if only this smaller, cuter can, were also cheaper. :/ ....Perhaps I should just QUIT! ......One day.

Hello friends... (Though I am not actually certain there is anyone who reads my blog)

Is it Monday? Ugh. I was as unproductive as ever this weekend.

Angie, my best friend, moved here last weekend! I flew to Utah on Friday (the 13th) night. And Angie, Jason (Angs' Bro.), and I made the long journey back to WA on Saturday. It was excruciating, but we made it! I am so happy to have her here... But quickly we were both reminded of the unproductive people we seem to become when we are together. Since she has gotten here we have found time to watch: Love Potion #9, Fever Pitch, Fargo, Teen Witch, Mean Girls, Twilight, TWICE (but the 2nd time was for Brett ;), The Pursuit of Happyness, Fear, Hairspray, Picture Perfect, Role Models, Sex and the City, and countless episodes of Medium. But I don't care... I love that she is here,  afterall, those are some great flicks!

Angela... move here! I miss old days :(

Ok... So I said I would catch y'all up with my life, and what did I give you but a brief description of my Christmas festivities?! Not that they were not wonderful... But it's time to move on to 2009, it's March, after all. I must admit, I could have done without most of 2008 (lets throw 2007 in the mix also) But I suppose we learn from our wonderful experiences (and our excruciatingly horrible ones :) )

I still love it here in WA, and can't imagine myself being anywhere else right now. It has been an uneventful past few months but I have loved every moment! I look forward to what the future holds for me. Moving up here, after a crazy 4(ish) years, was the best thing I could have done for myself... However, going BACK to school needs to happen at some point. I can't seem  make that leap. Ugh. Can I buy an education online? No? Seems I can buy everything else online...I'm looking into it, some kind of educational implant or pill... Hopefully they offer financing options. :)

Those who know me, know that I have been driving the same little "teal" Honda Civic for the past seven years. But what you may not know is that not only is that poor, humble little vehicle lacking it's usual things (i.e. radio, air conditioning, hubcaps, cigarette lighter, etc..., etc..., etc...) but he now has completely lost his passenger side window. (deep breath...sniff, sniff) A couple months ago, an intoxicated bicyclist (yes, I said BICYCLIST, not MOTORCYCLIST) hit a curb, flying head first into the window, shattering it, obviously, all over yours truly. Brett said he was able to find a cheap window, so the car can regain its dignity somewhat. Not that he hasn't MUCH appreciated the wonderful temporary window Brent (Brett's father) made to shield me from WA wonderful rain :)

My reaction to this event? Shock mixed with a wtf?, then tears, and now laughter... I am the first to admit that I  have done some stupid things in my lifetime, some of which my wonderful friends will not let me forget...And if this poor kid has friends like mine...He is sure to be receiving [well-earned] torture from his buddies for his little performance that will stick with him for a long time. And that, to me, is punishment enough. :)

The moral of my story? ... If you are a teenage boy and you are under the influence of cheap beer you found in your dads tool shed, please stay off of your schwinn. Thank you -Lisa Best

Hey All,

So I may have forgotten to keep "blogging", even after I promised I would not. BUT, I am here to make amends...So get off my case :) I shall now catch you up on my life since...December, was it?

Here goes...

Mom, Katie & Sara came up to WA for Christmas, which was the best present I could have asked for. We spent a week up at the Summit at Snoqualmie in a cabin, boarding and skiing...Thus was born: The "Best/Krulish Christmas 2008". For those of you who do not know, this was a big deal, since the last time we all got together was 1996, or as the event is more formally known- The "Best/Krulish Summer 1996". Anyhoo... It was a really great time. Of course, we brought the Wii for some Rockbanding. Brett even made the "dicey" journey through the insane amounts of snow to see me. And yes, of course, I made a scrapbook to preserve the event. (hold the snickering)  :) Thanks Mommy for comin' to see your baby!
