On Monday, William turned 5.
When I first met this little boy, he was 2... Just a few days away from his third birthday. B & I's very first date, in fact, was spent making a Finding Nemo themed birthday cake for the wee little one.
Those first days & months and even year were difficult at times. Those were the days when I sometimes felt the need to bribe him with candy to get a smile aimed in my direction. As he, I'm sure, wondered why I was around all the dang time. It was a lot of adjusting & a lot of change for both of us.
Those harder moments are {happily} past us. But it is definitely bittersweet... he is growing too fast. I miss being called "Weesa".
I am so grateful to get to love such a sweet & caring, smart & witty, little boy. I can not imagine a life without him. I don't know what I ever did before I had Brett & Will in my life. I love you kiddo... Thanks for continuing to love me (rather than pretending to not know me) when I sing too loud in public, pick you up from preschool in my pj's, sleep with your baby brothers ultrasound picture clutched in my hand, accidentally let your Red Robin balloon fly out the window, or step on your "pet" banana slug. & thank you for being my buddy.

On Friday (while in Utah) I went to Fetal Fotos in Murray to see my little babe with my mom & two sisters. I cried throughout the entire ultrasound. I just love that little baby so much already, that seeing those teeny features again made my heart so happy. What a miracle. The tech was fantastic. She made me feel like she was genuinely excited about MY baby. She kept saying "Oooooh, look how cute!" She commented how cute my baby's nose was... Which was nice to hear, since on the first ultrasound, the nose appeared gigantic, due apparently to an arm right in the view of where the nose is ;) Darn ultrasounds can be deceiving. It was a great experience. When it came time for the reveal of the gender, we all shut our eyes. I threatened my mom & sisters with their lives. The gal sealed this info in an envelope so that we could go back to the house and Skype with B & Will to all find out together. Let me tell you... That 3 hours between getting the envelope & B getting home from work were the hardest of my life.
Since the day I found out I was pregnant I was positive it was a girl. I had little doubt. I had already named her. Had had dreams of her on several occasions.
And guess what?
Momma is wrong as usual.
It's a BOY!
I did a double take when I looked at the ultrasound picture, as if I perhaps just couldn't read. But whether or not I can read is irrelevant because the proof was right there in front of me... No mistaking the teeny little "indicator" on that ultrasound.
I am thrilled. WE are thrilled. I have been smiling for three days. I can't even sleep... All I can do is think about my little one. And talk to him. I love you baby boy. I can't wait to meet you.

Demetri Martin makes me laugh.
some jokes:
The thing about glitter is, if you get it on you, be prepared to have it on you forever cause glitter is the herpes of craft supplies.
“I like fruit baskets because it gives you the ability to mail someone a piece of fruit without appearing insane. Like, if someone just mailed you an apple you’d be like ‘Huh? What the hell is this?’, but if it’s in a fruit basket you’re like ‘This is nice!.’”
“I wanna make a jigsaw puzzle that’s 40,000 pieces. And when you finish it, it says ‘go outside.’”
